Heritage festival

Bahrain 2014

Inspired by the Textile concept of the Heritage Festival "weaving colors", the proposed design weaves itself through the existing structure of the museum, to include the existing architecture in the event.

The structure spreads from the heart like intertwining ribbons, leading to the different activities around the open space, weaving through the columns, and swirling to create a landscape that embeds within its folds the market stalls, the catwalk, the stage, the workshop space and even the urban furniture.

The site border is defined by an installation made of colourful hanging spools; the floating colours are dynamic and attractive, and filter behind them the minimal grey structure of the festival.

The entrance is where the ribbon journey begins. It floats creating a lit channel, then folds down to become the stalls, stage, catwalk and other activities
