Riyadat Opening Plaque

An opening plaque for Riyadat, a business incubation centre dedicated for independent women entrepreneurs. 

 

A contemporary interpretation of the classic plaque, in which, the traditional stainless steel panel rebels on the static form. The plaque peels and folds down, revealing multiple slices of different materials and colors.

 

The layers are accumulation of different sheets from each vendor/tenant at Riyadat, conveying artistically the essence of each business, brand, product. The layers represent sample of the diverse variant businesses and industries at Riyadat centre.

An additional red velvet layer attached to the plaque with magnets, is to be peeled off like paper by Her Royal Highness, Princess Sabeeka Al-Khalifa.
